Though BluRay has been available for several years, high price points kept BluRay disc players limited to a very select consumer base. In recent years, however, prices of BluRay disc players have decreased significantly, allowing many to upgrade.

So what about those hundreds of DVD’s already in your collection? You need not worry. Though your optimal picture and sound experience with a BluRay player is with BluRay discs, you can still watch your DVD’s on your BluRay player, which many players will up-convert to HD. The quality will still be less than BluRay, but you don’t have to throw away your existing DVD collection to make the switch.
